Like most of us, I didn’t know Steve Jobs, but I watched his fight. Mr. Jobs changed our world. He was a true visionary – a legend. But what I admired most in him was his tenacity. In my job as President & CEO of the Cancer Support Community, and at every level of our organization, we get to be pretty expert about this struggle. We know that tenacity counts for a lot.
I love this quote by Jobs. It is a small window into that genius mind – any maybe a little glimpse inside his heart too:
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
Goodbye Mr. Jobs. We will never know what wonders you had left in you.
