Need a local referral for a wig?  Have questions to ask your health care team but just can’t seem to get the questions organized?  Feeling helpless and overwhelmed by the recent diagnosis of a loved one?  Want to find a local Cancer Support Community? Live Chat at the Cancer Support Helpline may be just what you need.  The Cancer Support Helpline has just added an easy to use new feature that will get you connected to the help you need.

Sitting on the train or waiting in the doctor’s office and want some privacy?  Live Chat allows people seeking support during their cancer experience to reach a licensed mental health professional online in a private chat room setting without making a phone call.

Designed to help more people get connected to professional support in different ways the Cancer Support Community is excited to launch this latest addition to the list of options for anyone impacted by a cancer diagnosis. This includes recently diagnosed patients, long-time survivors, family and friends and health care professionals with over-the-phone support, treatment decision counseling, distress screening and information on national and community resources.

The helpline’s new live chat option is a great option for people who have a question about the Cancer Support Community’s web resources, the location of our local centers or other quick concerns.  Chatters may also begin a support session online and continue for more support over the phone if they wish.

The Cancer Support Helpline’s live chat is available during normal helpline hours, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern, and can be accessed at www.cancersupportcommunity.org/MainMenu/Cancer-Support/Cancer-Support-Helpline.html.
